8 IntroductionProcessorThe cPCI-6810/6820 motherboard is based on the RCC/ServerWorks Champion LE chipset and supports a single or dualIntel Mobile Pentium III processor – M. The supported CPUpackage is a micro-FCBGA.The Intel® Pentium® III processor - Low Power is a 0.18-micronproduct, which is a highly integrated assembly with all itsimmediate system-level support. This mobile version of thePentium III processor runs at a lower voltage than the desktopversion. The 256 KB on-die transfer L2 cache is integrated with the CPU,eliminating the need for separate components and improvingperformance. The Intel® Pentium® III processor - Low Power alsooperates on a 100/133 MHz Front Side Bus for faster access tomemory and data. The FSB speed depends on the CPU type withits core speed is automatically detected by the BIOS.Supported MemoryThe cPCI-6810/6820 supports PC100/PC133 registered SO-DIMMs only. The SDRAM speed, type, and size can bedetermined by the BIOS reading the DIMM presence detect bitson the SMBus. The DRAM timing register, which provides theDRAM speed control for the entire array, must be programmed touse the parameters of the slowest installed SDRAM. The DRAMinterface supports 64Mbit, 128Mbit, and 256Mbit technologyallowing up to 512MB per double-sided SO-DIMM. The cPCI-6810/6820 can support up to 2GB of SDRAM memory with four144-pin SO-DIMMs. Refer to the table below for memory sizeconfigurations according to model type.
