NetVanta 1234 Front Panel LayoutNetVanta 1234 Front Panel FeaturesStatus LEDThe STAT LED indicates the unit’s status and is located to the lower left corner of the unit.CONSOLE InterfaceThe CONSOLE interface is an EIA-232 serial port (DCE) that provides for local management andconfiguration (via a DB-9 female connector).10/100Base-T Ethernet InterfacesThe NetVanta 1234 front panel contains 24 10/100Base-T Ethernet interfaces (RJ-45). These interfacesare arranged in stacked pairs, with the numbers 1 through 24 screened directly above or below thecorresponding port. Status LEDs numbered 1 through 24 are located in the LED bank on the left sideof the unit.10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet InterfacesThe NetVanta 1234 front panel contains four 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (RJ-45).These interfaces are arranged in two stacked pairs, with the numbers G1 through G4 screened directlyabove or below the corresponding port. Status LEDs numbered G1 through G4 are located in the LEDbank on the left side of the unit.SFP SlotsThe NetVanta 1234 front panel contains two standard SFP slots for fiber connectivity. Theseinterfaces, numbered G1 and G2, are associated with the Gigabit Ethernet interfaces numbered G1 andG2 and share status LEDs. (Use either the RJ-45 connectors or the SFP slots. The fiber slots haveprecedence.)Connection directly to an external modem requires a cross-over cable.G2G3G4NetVanta 12347123456789101112131415161718192021222324G1G2G3G41 3 5 9 11 13 152 4 6 8 10 12 14 1617 19 21 2318 20 22 24STATG1
