OPTION MODULESThe NetVanta 3000 Series (with the exception of the 3120 and 3130) accepts several option modulesdesigned to meet a variety of networking requirements. The option modules are of two types: plug-innetwork interface modules (NIMs) and plug-on dial backup interface modules (DIMs).NIMs are cards that plug directly into the option module slots (labeled SLOT 1 NET/DBU orSLOT 2 NET/DBU), located on the rear of the base unit. These cards provide the following types ofinterfaces:• NetVanta 56K/64K NIM (P/N 1200861L1) on page 57• NetVanta T1/FT1 NIM (P/N 1202862L1) on page 58• NetVanta T1/FT1 NEBS NIM (P/N 1200862L2#NEBS) on page 59• NetVanta T1/FT1 + DSX-1 NIM (P/N 1202863L1) on page 60• NetVanta Dual T1 NIM (P/N 1200872L1/1202872L1) on page 61• NetVanta E1/FE1 NIM (P/N 1200868E1/L1) on page 62• NetVanta E1/FE1 + G.703 NIM (P/N 1200878E1/L1) on page 63• NetVanta Serial NIM (P/N 1200866E1) on page 64• NetVanta SHDSL NIM, Annex A (P/N 1200936E1) on page 65• NetVanta SHDSL NIM, Annex B (P/N 1200937E1) on page 66• NetVanta ADSL NIM, Annex A (P/N 1202869E1) on page 67• NetVanta ADSL NIM, Annex B (P/N 1202889E1) on page 68• NetVanta 3G CDMA NIM (P/N 1700801G1, 1700802G1) on page 69• NetVanta USB WWAN NIM (P/N 1700803G1) on page 71DIMs are plug-on cards that plug directly onto the NIM prior to installation into the base unit. A DIM mustbe plugged onto a NIM in order for the DBU port on the NIM to be active. The NetVanta 3000 Seriessupports three DIMs (only one DIM per slot can be installed):• NetVanta Analog Modem DIM (P/N 1200864L1) on page 72• NetVanta ISDN BRI DIM (P/N 1200865L1) on page 73• NetVanta ISDN S/T DIM (P/N 1200875L1) on page 74This section describes each module, providing individual card shipping contents, specifications, andfeatures.
