The ADTRAN TM TotalAccess ® 1250 is a temperature-hardened Mini-DSLAM that enables delivery of 24 ports ofPOTS and ADSL via an Ethernet 10/100Base-Tinterface from smaller Central Offices (COs),Controlled Environmental Vaults (CEVs),Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs), and RemoteTerminals (RTs). The ADSL is derived fromthe network interface and is combined viaonboard splitters with the existing POTSservice for single-pair subscriber delivery. The Total Access 1250 offers a scalablenetwork interface today with the Ethernetinterface module. The IP interface modulesupports 1483/2684 bridging via eitherLLC/SNAP or VC MUX encapsulation.Statistics are collected on both the subscriberand network parts. The compact, 1U high unit provides spacesavings while offering multiple options forplacement within compact environments. Itsdesign leverages existing telco resources andcan be rackmounted, wallmounted, or verti-cally positioned within the RT. It measures1.75 in. H x 17.25 in. W x 11.125 in. D andoffers redundant power using –42 to –56 VDC.The Total Access 1250 is equipped with fanmodules and filters. Each fan unit is inde-pendently field replaceable. The fans arecontrolled by heat-sensing circuits and willrun only when necessary. Front panel accessis available to all connections. The ability to connect to the Total Access1250 via an IP uplink at the customer prem-ises immediately improves the economics ofbroadband for businesses such as hotels,service-based organizations, and small-to-mid-sized enterprises (SMEs). Carriers benefitby expanding IP in their existing networkswithout costly ATM server installations. Thisis especially true for network applications thatdon’t require the expense associated withATM-QoS. In these cases, IP is more ubiqui-tous and cost-efficient for both intra- andinter-network operations.Management options include SNMP,ACSII, TL1, Telnet, or local VT100 interfaces.Menu-driven interfaces are simple and intu-itive, ensuring a successful serviceimplementation through local and remoteaccess.ADTRAN’s Total Access 1250 Mini-DSLAMbrings cost-effective and space-efficient ADSLwith POTS solutions to carriers providingsubscriber services at rural CO, MDU, CEV,and RT sites.IP Mini-DSLAMTotal Access 1250 IP Mini-DSLAM
