ADTRAN® delivers with theindustry-leading Total Access® IntegratedAccess Devices (IADs). The Total Access 600R,604, 608, 612, 616, and 624 are cost-effective,fixed-port, IADs designed to support IP, TDM,or ATM networks. These IADs offer CLECs,ILECs, RBOCs, and ISPs a means to offercombined voice and data traffic over a singlenetwork interface terminating at thecustomer’s premises.The Total Access 604 provides four analogFXS voice interfaces while the 608 provideseight. The Total Access 612 provides 12 fixedanalog voice interfaces, while the Total Access 616provides 16 fixed analog voice interfaces, andthe Total Access 624 provides a full 24-portvoice capacity for larger voice applications.These analog FXS interfaces support thestringent design and full feature set requiredby today’s carriers. Total Access 600 SeriesIADs provide a built-in IP router, Nx56/64V.35 port for synchronous data applications,and optional DSX-1 interface, allowing thecustomer to combine a broad variety of voiceand data services into a single platform.The Total Access 600R provides an integralIP router and no analog ports with digitalvoice connectivity provided via the optionalDSX-1 connection.In applications involving IP network archi-tectures, a Total Access IAD at the customerpremises consolidates voice (packet, analog,and digital) and data traffic, and supports IPvoice signaling over any Layer 2 protocol. Thisallows service providers to offer traditionaltelephony services, while taking advantage ofa lower cost IP network architecture. TotalAccess IADs are also interoperable withleading feature server vendors to supporthosted PBX service offerings. Total AccessIADs enable traditional analog services (POTSphones, fax machines, and other devices) tobe combined with IP phone support to allowcustomers to migrate to IP telephony at theirown pace.Built with the carrier in mind, the TotalAccess 600 Series IADs are housed in arugged metal case and provide the flexibilityneeded for quick turn-up in harsh environ-ments. Wall and desktop mounting optionsare available for ease of installation. Anoptional ADTRAN battery backup system isavailable for added security.For Telco applications, the T1 loop (endsection) from the last regenerator to the NIUmust contain no more than 22dB of loss.Additionally, from the NIU to the CPE (e.g.,CSU), there must be no more than 5.5 dB ofloss. Said differently, with 7.0dB of loss per1kft of 24AWG wire, this equates to approxi-mately 3100 feet and 775 feet for the telco endsection and NIU to CPE segments, respec-tively. For a campus environment in a privateT1 application, the Total Access 600 Seriesreceiver sensitivity of -36dB allows for amaximum distance of up to 5,000 feetbetween units. The integral IP router providesa powerful suite of performance and securityfeatures. Each Total Access 600 IAD offersmultiple PVC configurations for simultaneousaccess to the corporate network and theISP. Supporting NAT and packet filtering,Total Access 600 IADs secure the corporatenetwork from unwanted intrusion. Allconfiguration options, testing parameters,and passwords are accessed through aneasy-to-use VT100 terminal interface or aTELNET session.Using local or remote inband management,the service provider can turn features, func-tions, and access ports on and off. For net-work access, the Total Access 600 IADs havea single T1, SDSL, SHDSL, or ADSL (604/608)interface.
