The T1 interface provides the following functions:• AMI or B8ZS• Manual line build-out• D4 or ESF framing• Network performance monitoring and reporting• Test loopbacks with QRSS generation checking• Extensive self-testingThe T1 connection pinout is shown in Table 12.Table 12. Network Connection PinoutDSX-1 Connection (JP3)The Total Access 850 system provides a single DSX-1 port (located in the rear of the unit). The DSX-1interface provides the following functions:• AMI or B8ZS• Manual line build-out• D4 or ESF framingThe Total Access 850 provides dual T1 connection points. In all cases, only one ofthe connection points is used. When wire-wrapping of the T1 is utilized (using P3), ablank plug must be placed in the primary T1 connection (JP2).
