jobAidD ESCRIPTIONThe 2.5 Gbps Multimode SFP plugs into ADTRAN GigE modulesdesigned to accept SFPs. The SFP provides an optical interface tothe GigE physical interface. Installed into an appropriate hostmodule, the SFP provides a GigE interface to the supportingsystem.NOTETo ensure compatibility, refer to the documentation providedwith the host module. The following features are supported on the SFP:■ Tri-Rate 1.063/2.125/4.25 Gbps, 850 nm, multi-mode, 2 fiberoperation■ Maximum Optical distance: see table below.Maximum Optical Distance TableCAUTION!Due to compliance certification requirements, only SFPs suppliedby ADTRAN are to be used with ADTRAN modules. If damage hasoccurred during shipping, file a claim with the carrier, and thencontact ADTRAN Customer Support. For more information, referto the warranty. To install the SFP into an appropriate module, complete thefollowing steps:NOTEDo not remove the protective end cap from the SFP until you areready to connect the fiber optic cable.1. Insert the SFP into the SFP cage on the module. Ensuringthat the latch handle on the SFP is facing upward, slide theSFP all the way into the SFP cage until there is an audible“click”.NOTEThe latch on the SFP is for removal only. When removing the SFP,rotate the latch away from the SFP, the SFP should easily slide outof the cage.2. Remove the end cap and connect the fiber to the SFP+.NOTICEWe recommend that you keep the protective end cap onwhenever the transceiver optical fiber connector is not in use.3. Continue the installation and turn-up of the host moduleusing the instructions in the Job Aid provided with themodule or other system-level documentation availableonline at www.adtran.com.Product P/N: 1200482G1Issue Date: March 2016Document P/N: 61200482G1-22ADocumentation for ADTRAN Access and Aggregation products isavailable for viewing and download directly from the ADTRAN SupportCommunity website.Go to: https://supportforums.adtran.com/welcomeRegistration is required.ADTRAN offers training courses on our products, including customizedtraining and courses taught at our facilities or at customer sites. For inquiries, go to: http://adtran.com/trainingThe following related online documents and resources provide additional information for thisproduct:SFP/XFP/SFP+ Compatibility Matrix (online tool, go to: http://www.adtran.com/sfp)
