24Installationl When used as an extractor unit, the hood must be fittedwith a 120mm diameter hose.l If the fumes must be forced out through the wall, youmust obtain a MKZ sizable wall exhaust pipe (withexternal exhaust and air intake), E-Nr.- 610 899 004 (Ø 120mm) which is one of our optional parts.l When installing the hood, make sure you respectthe following minimum distance from the top edgeof the cooking hob/ring surfaces:electric cookers 650 mmgas cookers 650 mmcoal and oil cookers 700 mm min.l The hood cannot be connected to flues of otherappliances that run on energy sources other thanelectricity.l The air outlet must not be connected to chimney flues orcombustion gas ducts. The air outlet must under no cir-cumstances be connected to ventilation ducts for rooms inwhich fuel-burning appliances are installed.l It is advisable to apply for authorization from the relevantcontrolling authority when connecting the outlet to anunused chimney flue or combustion gas duct.The air outlet installation must comply with theregulations laid down by the relevant authorities.l When the unit is used in its extractor version, asufficiently large ventilation hole must be provided, withdimensions that are approximately the same as the outlethole.l National and regional building regulations impose anumber of restrictions on using hoods and fuel-burningappliances connected to a chimney, such as coal or oilroom-heaters and gas fires, in the same room.Safety warnings for kitchen unit installer
