6Hob burners control knobsThe symbols on the knobs mean that :z there is no gas supplythere is maximum gas supplythere is minimum gas supplyLighting the burnersFor easier lighting, proceed before putting a pan on the pan support. To light a burner:z push the electric ignition push button which is markedby a little spark.z At the same time, turn the relevant knob anticlockwiseto maximum position ( ).z Upon ignition, keep the knob pushed down about 5seconds. This will allow the "thermocouple" (fig. 1 -letter D) to be heated and the safety device to beswitched off, otherwise the gas supply would beinterrupted.z Then adjust the flame as required. If the burner does not ignite, turn the control knob tozero, and try again. When switching on the mains, after installation ora power cut, it is quite normal for the sparkgenerator to be activated automatically. In the absence of electricity, ignition is possible without the electrical device; in thiscase, use either a match or hand held spark generator specifically designed for thispurpose, push the relevant knob down and turn it anti-clockwise until it reaches the“maximum” position.OperationFig. 1A - Burner capB - Burner crownC - Ignition electrodeD - Thermocouple)
