10Stainless steel surfacesPerform daily cleaning with a slightlydamp cloth. For more severe soiling,use a liquid cream. Always clean thesteel in the direction of the steel finish.To ensure that the steel retains itsshine, it is recommended that you usea polishing agent for stainless steel ona regular basis. Always polish in thedirection of the steel finish (cross-wise).Never use steel wool, metal sponges orother abrasive cleaning agents.The ceramic glassImmediately scrape off stains causedby food which has boiled over, spilledsugar, dishes containing sugar (jam,juice, etc.), melted plastic andaluminium foil while the ceramic glassis still hot. If the ceramic glass isallowed to cool it may becomedamaged.After use the ceramic glass should bewiped with a damp cloth with washingup liquid. For severe soiling you canfollow these steps:1. Remove stains etc., with theceramic glass scraper.2. Make sure that the hob has cooleddown. Use a ceramiccleaning agent such as vitroclen.Shake the bottle and apply a coupleof squirts to the ceramic hob.3. Wipe the ceramic hob clean witha damp cloth or kitchen towel.Tough stains can be removed byrubbing the stain hard withkitchen towel.4. Wipe off remaining cleaningagent with a damp cloth.5. Wipe with a dry cloth, ifrequired.Make sure that the ceramic glass is drywhen you heat it up again. Ceramicglass can develop rainbow-like stripesif heated while damp.Spillages must be removedimmediately, while the burner is stillwarm, using a ceramic glass scraper.Especially damaging are meltedplastic, aluminium, or any foodstuffcontaining sugar, including naturalsugar, as these can create permanent“pockmarks” and craters on theceramic surface. After cleaning, polishthoroughly with the cleaning agentsupplied with the unit.Defects in the ceramic surface whichcan be related to the above are notcovered by the warranty.Warning:Aluminium foil and plastic utensilsshould not to be placed on hotsurfaces.The surface should not be used forstorage.11Cleaning of gas burnersClean the control panel and knobs plusthe pan grid, as well as burner caps andrings, with ordinary cleansing agents.Never use scouring powder, Brillopads, metal pads or other scouringagents on enamelled or paintedsurfaces!Avoid boil-overIf water accidentally gets into the edgeof the burner head (boil-over) thewater must be removed with a lint-freecloth before the burner is turned onagain.Likewise, caps and grids must bethoroughly wiped off before the gasring is used again so that the boil-overdoes not permanently scar the enamelor paint.
