51EN11 Storage, Removal and Disposal11.1 StorageLong storage periods without occasional charging ordischarging can lead to permanent damage of thebattery.When the battery is stored at room temperature (20 °C to 30 °C),a self-discharge of 3-6% per month takes place due to internalreactions. Storage at temperatures above room temperatureshould be avoided. A high storage temperature also meansincreased battery self-discharge.Batteries stored at room temperature should be recharged every6 months to preserve their full capacity and service life.The Protect B. PRO should be connected to themains network before being put into storage toensure that the battery is fully charged. The charg-ing duration should be at least 8 hours, inconjunction with an external additional battery unitat least 24 hours.11.2 RemovalRemoval is carried out by following the installation description inreverse.11.3 DisposalPlease dispose of the individual parts of the device as prescribedand in compliance with legal guidelines upon the finaldecommissioning in the interest of environmental protection andrecycling.
