48Control and Information SystemsThe control and information systems consist of temperature displays,an optical warning display and an acoustic warning.The system warns:– when first switching on the appliance (when the storage temperaturehas not yet been attained);– if the appliance doors are open– if the temperature in the refrigerator or freezer compartment is toohigh;– if there are functional disturbances at the appliance."Open Door"-WarningIf the fridge or freezer door is left open the red warning display willflash and an acoustic warning tone will sound– after approx. 5 minutes if the fridge door is left openIf you need more time to load or rearrange refrigerated or frozen foods,you can switch off the warning tone by pressing the WARNING OFFbutton.If the doors are still left open the warning tone will sound again at theend of the appropriate period of time.The red warning display will go off when the doors are closed.Temperature WarningThe red warning display flashes and an audible warning sounds, as soonas the temperature in the freezer compartment is warmer than -11 °C.A rise in temperature may be caused by:– frequent door opening for long periods of time;– loading with large quantities of warm foods;– high ambient temperature;– an error of the appliance.The audible warning can be switched off with the WARNING OFF but-ton. Both warning display and audible warning are automaticallyswitched off, when the ACTUAL temperature in the freezer compart-ment falls below -11 °C.3 The warning tone switches off automatically after 80 minutes, also ifthe ACTUAL temperature is still at variance with the DESIRED tempera-ture. The red warning light continues to flash.
