The display changes, asindicated in the figure at the right, as themeasurement begins. The cuff starts to inflate.It is normal for the cuff to feel very tight. Apressure bar indicator is displayed, on the leftedge of the display, during the inflation.Note: If you wish to stop inflation at any time, press theSTART button again.6. When inflation is complete, deflation startsautomatically andSTARTPressPressurizingZero displayStarts inflationAll of the displaysegments displayedblinks, indicating that themeasurement is in progress. Once the pulse isdetected, the mark blinks with each pulse beat.Note: If an appropriate pressure is not obtained, thedevice starts to inflate again automatically. To avoidre-inflation, see “Measurement with the SET Pressure”on the next page.7. When the measurement is complete, thesystolic and diastolic pressure readings andpulse rate are displayed. The device announcesthe measurement results. The cuff exhausts theremaining air and deflates completely.8. Press the START button to turn the device off.After one minute of non-operation, the devicewill turn off automatically.9. The reading is then stored into memory. See page E-18 for more details aboutthe memory function.10. Remove cuff and make a note of blood pressure and pulse rate on thechart in the back of this manual, indicating date and time of measurement.Additional logbook charts can be downloaded and printed for free atwww.andmedical.com or in Canada at www.autocontrol.com.
