If possible store the throat plate outside ofthe stove, check all moveable components, atregular intervals, to ensure they are moving freely.Allow air movement through the stove, by openingthe air wash and primary air inlet (s) controls toabout half way open or leave the door ajar. Thiswill allow a free flow of air through the appliancethus preventing moisture and condensationforming inside the stove and chimney. Thispreventative maintenance will ensure your stovestays in the best condition for the coming wintermonths.ADJUSTING THE DOOR HINGESOnce the appliance has been under fire for aperiod of time the fire door may appear to havemoved out of alignment in relation to the door ap-erture or catch. This is quite normal and due to thesettling of the casting.The fire door can be re-aligned as follows : When the appliance is cold, open the firedoor so that it is at right angles to the front ofthe stove. Lift the fire door up off its hinges. Gently tap the hinge pins in the direction tocompensate for the misalignment. (Fig. 6) Re-fit the door and check to ensure it nowsits square to the body; if not repeat theabove steps.If the fire door needs to be raised, please follow : When the appliance is cold, open the firedoor so that it is at right angles to the front ofthe stove. Lift the fire door up off the hinges. Drop one washer on the top and bottomhinge pins. Refit the door and check.Please Note : There is no adjustment to thedoor lock / catch assembly. However,periodically check the tightness of theretaining screw to the end of the door handleshaft. (Fig. 7)FUEL RETAINER BARS—INSPECTIONFuel retainer bars are supplied with the stove.Periodically check for any bowing or heatdistortion to the fuel retaining bars and replace asnecessary.Please Note : This operation should only becarried out when the appliance is unlit andcold.Fig. 6.
