This iscalled Group Paging on the IP phones. You can specify up to 5 listening multicastaddresses. An Administrator can use the following parameters in the configuration files to setGroup Paging RTP Settings:• paging group listening• softkeyN type, topsoftkeyN type, prgkeyN type, or expmodX keyN type• sofkeyN label, topsoftkeyN label, or expmodX keyN label• softkeyN value, topsoftkeyN value, prgkeyN value, or expmodX keyNvalueAn Administrator or User can use the following parameters in the Aastra Web UIto set Group Paging RTP Settings:• Paging Listen Addresses (Basic Settings->Preferences->Group Paging RTPSettings)• Softkey (Operation->Softkeys and XML,Operation->Programmable Keys, Operation->Expansion Keys)How it worksAfter pressing a configured “Paging” softkey on the phone, the Phone sends RTPto a preconfigured multicast address. Any phone in the local network then listensfor RTP on the preconfigured multicast address. For both sending and receiving ofthe multicast RTP there is no sip signaling involved. The Phone displays the“Paging” message to the phone’s LCD.The phone uses the G711 uLaw CODEC for multicast RTP.Note: Multicast RTP is one way only - from sender to the receiver (i.e.from sender to the multicast address (receiver)).
