Step 9: Set up notificationsTo ensure you receive notifications you should always enableyour AbiBird App to receive pop-up notifications to yourSmartphone as well as email notifications. We also recommend changing your relevant phone settingsfor the AbiBird App to ensure notifications remain on yourphone screen until you tap to either view or remove them. For iOS (iOS 10+) devicesFrom the Devices menu select Accounts (bottomright), then select Notifications and choose toenable email and push notifications as you require. For Android (Android 5+) devicesFrom the My Sensors menu select the Main menu( , top left), select Notifications and choose toenable email and App notifications as your require.Step 8: Setting the sensitivity levelThe sensitivity level controls how long it takes before AbiBird considerssomething unusual may have occurred. We recommend a sensitivitylevel of 1 to 2 hours.1. By adjusting sensitivity levels you can better match the individualcared-for person’s activity levels and reduce false alerts.2. Note that increasing the sensitivty will reduce the number ofalerts but will also reduce the monitored hours.5For example: The person usually goes to bed at 9pm, but has hada fall at 6.50pm today and cannot get up. By 9pm activity would beunusual for 2 hours 10 minutes which exceeds a 2 hour sensitivtylevel but falls below a 3 hour sensitivty level. Therefore, if you have set a 2 hour sensitivity level then by 8.50pman Unusual Activity notification will be sent out to associatedsmartphones.*However, if you have set a 3 hour sensitivity level then activity will beassumed to be normal and no notifications will be sent.*Notifications must be on in app and phone settings.3. On the graph page, press Sensitivity(bottom right) and adjust to between1 and 6 hours.4. To reduce false alerts, we recommendstarting at 1 or 2 hours and increasinguntil false alerts are minimised.5. As the sensitivity is increased theroutine hours should also increase, allowing additional time before andafter the regular routine. For example,if the routine ends at 8pm and thesensitivty is increased from 1 hour to2 hours, then the routine should beadjusted to end at 9pm.
