10Care and maintenanceMaintenance is necessary if the device has been dam-aged. This includes damage to the plug, mains cable andhousing, penetration of the interior by liquids or foreignobjects, exposure to rain or moisture or when the devicedoes not work properly or has fallen.x Disconnect the device from the mains power supplybefore maintenance (e.g. cleaning).x If smoke develops or unusual noises or odours aredetected, then switch off the device immediately andpull the mains plug from the socket. In such cases,the device should not be used until it has been in-spected by a qualified technician.x Maintenance work should only be carried out byqualified specialists.x Never open the housing on the device or accesso-ries. There is a risk of fatal injury due to an electricshock when the housing is opened.x Clean the device housing and remote control with adamp cloth.x Do not use solvents, white spirit or thinners as thesecan damage the surface of the device.x Do not use any of the following substances:x Salt water, insecticides, solvents containing chlorineor acids (ammonium chloride) or scouring powder.x Gently rub the surface with a cotton cloth until it iscompletely dry.WarningThe device works under dangerous voltages. Thedevice must only be opened by authorised spe-cialists. All maintenance and service work must becarried out by authorised firms. Improper repairscan expose device users to the risk of fatal injury.Accessoriesx Only connect devices that are suitable for the in-tended purpose. Otherwise, hazardous situations ordamage to the device can occur.Putting into operationx Observe all safety and operating instructions beforeputting the device into operation for the first time.x Only open the housing to install the HDD.WarningWhen installing the device in an existing videosurveillance system, ensure that all devices aredisconnected from the mains power supply andlow-voltage circuit.WarningIf in doubt, have a specialist technician carry outassembly, installation and connection of the de-vice.Improper or unprofessional work on the mainspower supply or domestic installation puts bothyou and other persons at risk.Connect the installations so that the mains powercircuit and low-voltage circuit always run sepa-rately from each other. They should not be con-nected at any point or become connected as a re-sult of a malfunction.Children and the devicex Do not allow children access to electrical devices.Never allow children to use electrical devices withoutsupervision. Children may not be able to accuratelydetect possible risks. Small parts can be life-threatening if swallowed.x Keep batteries away from small children. Call formedical assistance immediately if a battery is swal-lowed.x Keep packaging materials away from children (dan-ger of suffocation).x This device should not be used by children. If usedimproperly, spring-loaded parts can be ejected andcause injuries to children (e.g. eye injuries).
