If you feel you do not have sufficientelectrical experience, refer to a do-it-yourself wiring handbookor have your fixture installed by a qualified licensed electrician.(2) GENERAL1. To ensure the success of the installation, be sure toread these instructions and review the diagramsthoroughly before beginning.2. All electrical connections must be in accordance withlocal codes, ordinances, or the National ElectricalCode. If you are unfamiliar with methods of installingelectrical wiring, secure the services of a qualifiedlicensed electrician.3. These fixtures are intended for mounting to a standard4” x 2 ¼ ” deep metal octagon outlet box. The boxmust be directly supported by the building structure.For mounting to a PVC or Plastic Box do not usesupplied crossbar or attach directly to the junctionbox. The recessed holes located on the outer sidesof the fixture should be utilized for mounting thefixture directly to the ceiling, utilizing the correctscrews and anchors (not supplied).4. Before commencing with the installation, disconnectthe power by turning off the circuit breaker orby removing the fuse at the fuse box. Turning thepower off using the light switch is not sufficient toprevent electrical shock.NOTE:The important safeguards and instructions appearing in thismanual are not meant to cover all possible conditions andsituations that may occur. These factors must be supplied by the person(s) caringfor and operating the fixture.(3) UNPACKING THE FIXTUREOn checking the contents of the box you will find; Mounting Hardware Fixture Assembly Glass Diffuser 1 x 150W/HGN/120V/J78mm Bulb(4) PREPARE THE FIXTURERefer to figure I for illustration of fixture parts and assembly.1. If you are replacing an existing fixture, disconnect andremove the old fixture. Expose the supply wiring from theoutlet box.2 Attach the supplied crossbar (1) and fasten to thejunction box with supplied screws (2). Please note donot attach this fixture directly to a PVC or PlasticJunction box see point 3 of General section3 Attach the ground wire from the fixture to the outlet boxground terminal (or to the box ground wire). Connect thefixture wires to the appropriate electrical supply wiresfrom the outlet box: Black fixture wire to black power wire,and white fixture wire to white power wire. Use thesupplied wire connectors (3). Secure wire connectorswith UL listed electrical tape. Tuck wires carefully intooutlet box.4 Mount the fixture plate to the crossbar (1), using thesupplied nut and washer set (4).5 Insert the Halogen bulb into the socket (5). Do NotTouch the Halogen Bulb with Bare Hands Use a SoftDry Cloth. DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDEDWATTAGE of 150W.6 Fit the supplied tempered glass shade (6) onto thesocket rim and secure in place.7 Position the body of fixture under the fixture plate suchthat the screws in the body of the fixture can be insertedinto the designated holes in the fixture plate. Secure bytightening the supplied brass nuts (7).8 Restore electricity and check the operation of your newlighting fixture.CAUTION: Ensure that the Fitting is Cool and Switched off,Before Changing the Bulb. Do Not use Bulbs Exceeding Maximum Wattage, AsPer Caution Label. Do not Handle the Bulbs with Bare hands. Use a softCloth.
