If the way you feel does not agree with thedisplayed test result, please perform a quality control check withAccu-Chek Compact Control or Accu-Chek Compact Autocontrolsolution and a new test strip. Then perform another blood glucosetest. If you feel the new test result still does not agree with theway you feel, please consult your doctor.4.3.2 Implausible results – possible causes of errorIf your meter repeatedly displays error messages or you doubt the testresults are correct, please check the following points: Did you perform the test as directed (see Chapter 4.2 “Testing bloodglucose”)? Did you wait for the flashing test strip symbol and blood dropsymbol to appear before applying blood? Did you wash your hands with warm water and soap to improveblood flow and to remove any residues (e.g. of food, drinks, or skincream)? Did you dry your hands well? Did you massage your fingertip gently (without squeezing too hard)to obtain the drop of blood? Did you apply blood to the test strip without delay after the blooddrop formed? Did you perform the test within the correct temperature range(+10 °C to +40 °C)? Did you use a test strip drum whose 90-day use-by period hasnot expired (see Chapter 2.5 “Inserting or replacing the test stripdrum”)? Did you observe the proper storage conditions for the meter and teststrip drum (see Chapter 8 “Measurement and storage conditions”and the package insert that came with the test strip drum)?If you have checked these points and still receive error messages ordoubt the results are correct, please call the Accu-Chek customer careline (see Chapter 14 “Local customer support and service”).
