- 8 -MT-40 Series3-6 Adjust the Field Diaphragm (IrisDiaphragm Koehler Illuminator CondenserOptional)By limiting the diameter of the beam enteringthe condenser, the field diaphragm can preventother light and strengthen the image contrast. When the image is just on the edge of the fieldof view, the objective can show the bestperformance and obtain the clearest image.3-7 Adjust the Aperture Diaphragm1.The aperture diaphragm decides thenumerical aperture of the illumination. Onlywhen the N.A. of illumination is matchingwith the N.A. of the objective, it can obtainbetter resolution and contrast, and alsoincrease the depth of field.2. As the contrast is usually low, rotate thehandle to make the arrowhead pointed to③the related magnification position oncondenser base , namely, to adjust the N.A.④of illumination to 70%-80% of the N.A. ofobjective. The eyepiece can be taken offwhen it’s necessary to observe from thetube.Adjust the ring③ until see the figure asshown in Fig. 13, to adjust the proportion(see Fig. 13&14, is the image of aperture①diaphragm, is the edge of objective).②Fig. 13Fig. 14
