System activity refers to any activity involving one ormore of the following devices: keyboard, mouse, floppy drive, harddisc, peripherals connected to the serial and parallel ports, and videomemory. If no activity is detected for a period of time (called aninactivity timeout), the computer stops some or all of these devices inorder to conserve energy.This computer employs a power management scheme that supportsthe advanced configuration and power interface (ACPI), which allowsfor maximum power conservation and maximum performance at thesame time.
