Setting up the computerThis chapter describes how to connect the components of the computer together and set it up readyfor use. Before you start connecting it up, please read the Guidelines for safe operation in thefront of this Guide.After you've checked the components against the checklist in the last section,you can connect them together and begin to use your A3000 computer.Follow these simple steps to set up your computer:1. Connect mouse tocomputer2. Connect monitor tocomputerColour monitorTake the mouse out of its plastic bag. Theplug on the end of the mouse cable goesinto the socket on the underside of thec o m p u t e r . T h e p l u g h a s a n a r r o wmoulded into it: this should be uppermostwhen you push it in. The plug won't go inany other way, so don't try to force it. Asthe computer unit is raised on small feet,you can bring the cable out on the left orright, whichever suits you best.Put the monitor on a convenient supportb e h i n d t h e c o m p u t e r ( y o u c a n b u y aspecially-made stand from your supplier).If you have a colour monitor, push theplug on one end of its connecting cableinto the back of the monitor, and the otheri n t o t h e s o c k e t o n t h e b a c k o f t h ecomputer marked ANALOGUE RGB.Both plugs and sockets are wider at thetop than at the bottom, so it isn't possibleto put them in the wrong way up.
