UHA S TANDARD UNIT HEATER INSTALLATION O PERATION AND SERVICE MANUAL32 of 49SECTION 13: SERVICING13.1 Servicing InstructionsAfter start-up, the heater will require maintenance tobe carried out, at a minimum, annually. If the heateris used in a dirty or dusty area, more frequentmaintenance may be required.IMPORTANT: After any maintenance or repair work,always test fire the heater in accordance with thestart-up instructions on Page 27, Section 11 throughPage 30, Section 11.3.1 to ensure all safety systemsare in working order before leaving the heater tooperate. Minor faults may be traced by using thetroubleshooting charts on Page 35, Section 14through Page 39, Section 14.5.IMPORTANT: Check all gas pipes and pipe joints toensure there are no cracks or gas leaks. Any cracksin the pipes or pipe joints must be repaired.IMPORTANT: Inspect all suspended componentsand hardware. Ensure that they are in goodcondition, properly tightened, and corrosion free.13.2 Burner Maintenance1. Open the door and remove the burner compart-ment cover. See Page 41, Section 15.2.2. Clean any deposits from the main burner whichmay have formed in the injectors or venturi ofthe burner. See Page 41, Section 15.2.3. Remove the ignition electrode and flame probe.Check condition of ignition electrode and flameprobe. Clean off any deposits which may havebeen formed, check condition of ceramicinsulators. Replace as necessary. See Page42, Section 15.3.13.3 Fan/Motor Assembly MaintenanceThe main fan bearings are permanently sealed anddo not need lubrication. Before cleaning, turn off gasand electrical supply. Remove the fan and use asmall brush or duster to clean the fan blades fromeach side. Replace fan when done.13.4 Heat Exchanger MaintenanceThe heat exchanger will remain clean unless aproblem has developed with combustion. Inspect theheat exchanger. Look for signs of overheating at thefront tubes which may indicate burner over firing orpersistently low air flows.13.5 Gas Valve MaintenanceNo regular maintenance is required on this device.To change gas control valves, See Page 40, Section15.1.Do not repair or disassemble gas valve.Replace faulty gas valves with genuine replacementparts sold and supplied by Addison.13.6 Flue BlowerThe flue blower should not require maintenance.However, if the air pressure switch is causing burnerlockout, then remove the flue blower from the ventbox by unscrewing the three screws at the mountingplate. Remove the four screws attaching themounting plate to the fan inlet (See Page 44,Section 15.6).
