9 AIMB-567 User ManualChapter 1 General Information1.8.5 COM3 RS 232/422/485 mode selector (JSETCOM3)Users can use JSETCOM3 to select among RS 232/422/485 modes for COM3. Thedefault setting is RS 232.1.9 System MemoryThe AIMB-567 has two sockets for 240-pin SODIMMx2. All these sockets use 1.8 Vunbuffered double data rate synchronous DRAMs (DDR3 SDRAM). They are avail-able in capacities of 1024 MB. The sockets can be filled in any combination withDIMMs of any size, giving a total memory size on 4 GB. AIMB-567 does NOT supportECC (error checking and correction).1.10 Memory Installation ProceduresTo install SODIMMs, first make sure the two handles of the SODIMM socket are inthe “open” position. i.e. The handles lean outward. Slowly slide the SODIMM modulealong the plastic guides on both ends of the socket. Then press the SODIMM moduleright down into the socket, until you hear a click. This is when the two handles haveautomatically locked the memory module into the correct position of the SODIMMsocket. To remove the memory module, just push both handles outward, and thememory module will be ejected by the mechanism in the socket.Table 1.5: COM3 RS 232/422/485 mode selector (JSETCOM3)Function Jumper Setting*RS232 (5-6) + (7-9) + (8-10) + (13-15) + (14-16) closedRS422 (3-4) + (9-11) + (10-12) + (15-17) + (16-18) closedRS-485 (1-2) + (9-11) + (10-12) + (15-17) + (16-18) closed*: DefaultRS232 RS422 RS485
