Section 5: Using the AXIS 200 AXIS 200 User’s Manual52ZmodemModem Connection By connecting the AXIS 200 to a modem as detailed below, it ispossible to download snapshot images to remote computers usingstandard modem equipment.Configuration of the serial port for modem connectionSnapshot data and configuration data may be transferred over theserial link using the zmodem protocol. This protocol is supported bymost UNIX and PC/Mac communications packages.File Transfer To initiate a file transfer, simply type the sz command followed by thefilename of file you wish to transfer, as follows:Many communication packages allow automatic download ofsnapshot files, i.e. the program will detect the file transfer starting, andthen proceed to take care of it. However, should yourcommunications package not support this, you will need to manuallyselect 'receive zmodem' (or similar) from with the program.A successfully transferred snapshot file is in JPEG compressed imageformat, which is precisely the same as if the picture were saved fromwithin a browser. Consequently, the downloaded file is an identicalcopy of a snapshot representation held within your AXIS 200 filesystem.sz fullsize.jpg
