37AXIS 207/207W - The I/O Terminal ConnectorThe I/O Terminal ConnectorPinout and InterfaceThe 4-pin I/O terminal connector provides the interface to:• 1 transistor output• 1 digital input• auxiliary power and GNDThe terminal connector is used in applications for e.g. motion detection, event triggering, time lapse recording, alarm notification via email, image storage to FTP locations, etc.• Input - for connecting e.g. a pushbutton. If the pushbutton is pressed, the statechanges and the input becomes active (shown under Event Configuration > PortStatus).• Output - connects e.g. an alarm device that can be activated by Output buttonson the Live View page, or by an Event Type. The output will show as active(Event Configuration > Port Status) if the alarm device is activated.Function Pin Description PinoutsTransistorOutput4 With a maximum load of 100mA and amaximum voltage of 24V DC, this outputhas an open-collector NPN transistor withthe emitter connected to the GND pin. Ifused with an external relay, a diode must beconnected in parallel with the load, for pro-tection against voltage transients. The I/O terminal pins on theAXIS 207 and AXIS 207W arenumbered as shown below.1414AXIS 207WAXIS 207Digital Input 3 Connect to GND to activate, or leave float-ing (or unconnected) to deactivate.GND 1 (AXIS 207W)2 (AXIS 207)Auxiliary DCPower Input1 (AXIS 207)2 (AXIS 207W)5VDC/min 2.5W (AXIS 207)5VDC/min 3.5W (AXIS 207W)Electrically connected in parallel with theconnector for the PS-L/PS-H power adapter, this pin provides an auxiliary connector formains power to the unit. This pin can alsobe used to power auxiliary equipment, max50mA.
