Section 6: Setting Up Macintosh Computers48 AXIS 1440 User’s ManualAppleEtherTalkChoosing a PrinterSelecting a Printer Before you can choose your printer, the network (AT) version of yourEPSON printer driver must be installed on your Macintosh computer.You can download your printer driver from EPSON’s Home Page athttp://www.epson.com.Follow the steps below to choose a printer:1. Open the Chooser window and click your EPSON printer’s icon.(If two printer driver versions have been installed, select the iconwhose name ends with the (AT) suffix.)2. If your network has more than one zone, click the zone you want.(If your network has no zones, this box doesn’t appear.)3. The default AXIS 1440 printer name appears in the right-handframe. The printer name is shown as: AXIS_,where is the last six digits of the AXIS 1440 serialnumber, and is LPT1. For example: AXIS100086_LPT1.4. Click the printer name. (By doing so, you see if the AXIS 1440 iscorrectly connected to the printer.)5. Use the radio buttons to enable or disable background printing.6. Close the Chooser.Repeat this procedure for each Macintosh on the network using theAXIS 1440. To make sure that the printer is set up correctly, print atest page from each Macintosh.Printer Status You can use EPSON StatusMonitor to view printer status.Follow these steps:1. Choose Print or Page Setup from the File Menu. The printersettings dialog is displayed.2. Click Utility ...3. Click the EPSON StatusMonitor icon.
