40 AXIS 241QA/AXIS 241SA - Event configurationEvent typesAn event type is a set ofparameters describing howand when the video serveris to perform certainactions.Example: If somebody walks pastthe connected camera, and an eventhas been configured to act on this,the video server can record and sendvideo images to an FTP server, orsend a notification email to apre-configured email address with a pre-configured message. Video images can be sent as an attachment with theemail.Triggered EventA triggered event could be activated by:• a push button connected to an input port on the video server• detected movement in a configured motion detection window• a lost signal from a video source• a manual action clicking the trigger button in the web interface• on restart (reboot) after power lossHow to set up a triggered eventThis example describes how to set the AXIS 241QA/AXIS 241SA to upload images whenthe main door is opened:1. Click Add triggered on the Event types page.2. Enter a descriptive Name for the event, such as Main door.3. Set the priority - High, Normal or Low (see online help files).4. Select the video Source the event is to act on - Video 1 on Main door.5. Set the Respond to Trigger... parameters defining when the event is to be active;e.g. only after office hours6. Select the trigger alternative from the Triggered by... drop-down list;e.g. an Input port with a connected sensor if the door is opened.7. Set the When Triggered... parameters, that is what the video server should do ifthe main door is opened - e.g. upload images to an FTP server.8.
