Gas Pup28 Instruction 55-9002MaintenanceMaintenanceBatteriesThe battery voltage is monitored by the instrument’s microprocessor, andcan be checked by momentarily pressing the key. Refer back to theprevious section Battery Voltage Check.Battery replacement is recommended when the voltage at startup is lessthan 2 volts. The batteries must be replaced when the display startsblinking every five seconds while showing “b” in the RANGE window. To replace the batteries, refer back to the previous section BatteryInstallation.Sampling ProbeThe sampling probe is the most likely candidate for maintenance as it issubject to damage in normal field operations. The probe tube may bemade of either aluminum or clear polycarbonate.Replacing either probe is a simple matter of unscrewing the damagedprobe and installing a new one. Replace the O-ring if it looks deformedand can no longer provide an air-tight seal.
