58DRIVE CHAIN CLEANING AND OILINGClean and oil the chain as the following:Steam cleaning, high-pressure washers, and certain solvents can damage thedrive chain. Use only kerosene to clean the chain. Wipe it dry, and thoroughlylubricate it with SAE 30~50 motor oil. Do not use any other lubricants on thedrive chain.Adjusting the Drive ChainThe drive chain should be adjusted while all four tires are on the ground and makesure there is 10~20 mm (0.39 ~ 0.79 in) of slack, as shown above. If the verticaldeflection exceeds 20mm (0.79 in), adjust the chain slack.WARNINGFailing to inspect the drive chain slack before each use of the ATV could behazardous.Too much chain slack could cause the chain to come off the sprockets,resulting in an accident or serious damage to the ATV.Inspect the drive chain slack before each use.You can adjust the drive chain as the following:1. Loosen the hub stopper bolt (a) and two axle hubbolts (b).2. Fit the chain adjustment staff (c) into the screw andpass the chain adjustment staff through the drivensprocket holder (d) holes.3. To adjust the chain, push the ATV forward to loosenand backward to tighten.4. When the proper adjustment has be achieved tightenthe two axle hub holder bolts and hub stopper boltto the specification:Axle hub holding bolt: 40Nm (4.0 m-kg, 29 ft.lb)Hub stopper bolt: 12 Nm (1.2 m-kg, 9 ft-lb)5.
