Manual 2100-631Page 11 of 537. WALL MOUNTING INFORMATION1. Two holes for the supply and return air openingsmust be cut through the wall as detailed in Figure4.2. On wood-frame walls, the wall construction mustbe strong and rigid enough to carry the weight ofthe unit without transmitting any unit vibration.3. Concrete block walls must be thoroughly inspectedto insure that they are capable of carrying theweight of the installed unit.8. MOUNTING THE UNIT1. These units are secured by wall mounting bracketswhich secure the unit to the outside wall surface atboth sides. A bottom mounting bracket is providedfor ease of installation but is not required.2. The W42G, W48G and W60G models are suitablefor 0 inch clearance on the installation mountingwall and to the top. For all models the supplyair duct flange and the first 3 feet of supply airduct require a minimum of 1-inch clearance tocombustible material. The W24G, W30G andW36G models are suitable for 0 inch clearanceon the installation mounting wall, but require1-inch clearance to the top if combustible materialoverhang projects above the unit. See Figure 3and 3A. If a combustible wall, use a minimumof Figure 1 “A” dimension plus 2 inches and “B”dimension plus 2 inches. See Figures 4 and 5 fordetails.3. Locate and mark lag bolt locations and bottommounting bracket location.4. Mount bottom mounting bracket.5. Hook top rain flashing under back bend of top. Toprain flashing is shipped secured to the right side ofthe back.6. Position unit in opening and secure with 5/16 lagbolts; use 7/8 inch diameter flat washers on thelag bolts. Use lag bolts long enough to supportthe unit’s weight when mounted to the structure. This length may be dependant on the type ofconstruction.7. Secure rain flashing to wall and caulk across entirelength of top. See Figures 2 & 2A.8. On side-by-side installations, maintain a minimumof 20 inches clearance on right side to allowaccess to control panel and burner compartment, and to allow proper airflow to the outdoor coil.Additional clearance may be required to meet localor national codes.WARNINGFailure to provide the one inch clearancebetween the supply duct and a combustiblesurface for the first three feet of duct can resultin fire causing damage, injury or death.CAUTIONIf the bottom bracket is used, be certain thebracket is secured to the outside wall surfacein a way sufficient to support the entireweight of the unit during installation until sidemounting brackets are secured.
