CASE CLEANINGCASE CLEANINGA periodic cleaning schedule should be established to maintainproper sanitation, insure maximum operating efficiency, andavoid the corrosive action of food fluids on metal parts that areleft on for long periods of time. We recommend cleaning oncea week. Further suggestions for case cleaning include the fol-lowing:• To avoid shock hazard, be sure all electrical power is turnedoff before cleaning. In some installations, more than onedisconnect switch may have to be turned off to completelyde-energize the case.• All surfaces pitch downward to a deep-drawn drain trough, funneling liquids to the center of the case where the wasteoutlet is located for easy access. Check the waste outlet toinsure it is not clogged before starting the cleaning processand avoid introducing water faster than the case drain cancarry it away.• To clean the LED luminaires, shut off the lights in the case, then wipe the luminaires down with a soft, damp cloth.Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaners as they may dam-age the lights. Be certain that the luminaires are complete-ly dry before re-energizing.• Clean from top to bottom when cleaning the display case toavoid cross contamination.• If any potentially harmful cleaners are used, be certainto provide a temporary separator (e.g., cardboard, plasticwrap, etc.) between those cases that are being cleanedand those that may still contain product.• Avoid spraying any cleaning liquids directly on the electricalconnections.• Allow cases to be turned off long enough to clean any frostor ice from coil and pans.• Remove toekick and clean underneath the case with abroom and a long-handled mop. Use warm water and adisinfecting cleaning solution when cleaning underneaththe cases.D A N G E R▲SHOCK HAZARDAlways disconnect power to case when servicingor cleaning.
