PAGE 60 HANDSET PROGRAMMING13. HANDSET PROGRAMMINGThe Link is capable of recording voice messages and limited programmingusing a safety approved Touch-Tone telephone, either locally through theprogramming port or remotely through a T1, W1, or W2 expander module. In place of the Enter key or carriage return that you would use to enterdata from a keyboard, the Link interprets the digits ** as the Entercommand. Each entry consists of one or more digits followed by the** digits. Ensure that no more than one second separates the two *digits. To begin a local programming session, lift the handset to your ear. Fora remote session, call the Link system from your telephone set bycalling the landline number that the T1 module is connected to or thecell phone number the W1, W2 or W3 module is using. Handsetprogramming is always available locally; access for remoteprogramming depends on the Security Level setting:Level 1: The call will be answered with a message containing theSite ID, any Groups that have alarms, followed by theprompt "Enter Command Code". An Access Code is notrequired.Level 2: The call will be answered with a message containingonly the Site ID. To advance any further, the caller mustenter the Access Code within 10 seconds.Level 3: An incoming call results in the Link coming off-hookwith no announcement. To advance any further, thecaller must enter the Access Code within 10 seconds. The Link has stored voice prompts to guide you through the programmingsession. The first message you will hear is "Enter Command Code". Atthis time you can interrogate or acknowledge alarms and send controlcodes to output points. In the absence of a control code with the SecurityLevel set to 1, the Link will automatically advance to the programmingsection and speak "Enter Program Code".
