123 of 133Programming FunctionsThe Barrett 2060 telephone interconnect can be setup in the following ways:-1. Using the 2060 supervisory software loaded on a PC.a. transferring information via RS-232 through direct connection to theRS-232 connector.b. transferring information via RS-232 by dialling up the 2060 throughthe PSTN.2. Programming information directly from the front panel of the 2060Note:- This facility may not be available if the network administrator has barred thefunction during programming using a PC.Programming using the Barrett 2060 supervisory softwareThe Barrett 2060 supervisory software should be loaded onto a PC using theinstructions supplied with the package.Programming using the Barrett cable P/N BCA90023/BCA204020To program the 2060 using the RS-232 port of your PC or Laptop plug one of thecables mentioned above into the PC or laptop’s serial port. The other end should beplugged it the RS-232 socket of the 2060. Your PC or laptop should have theBarrett 2060 supervisory software running and the 2060 should be switched on.Programming functions can now commence.Note:- When programming it is suggested you use a Barrett supplied programmingcable. Other common serial cables have other pins connected. In some cases whenconnected to the programming computer these pins can have varying effects.
