Replace the nasalcannula or oxygen tubing every 3 to 6 months (ifdaily use, three months) as per manufacturer’srecommendation as recommended by the cannulamanufacturer or your oxygen provider. Yourphysician or oxygen provider will provide you withcleaning and replacement instructions.Additional supplies for replacement are availablethrough your oxygen provider.Equipment ProviderMaintenanceAIR INTAKE FILTERThe external air intake filter is located on the front,bottom of the oxygen concentrator. You can easilyremove it by hand. Instruct the patient to clean thisfilter weekly. (Reference Air Intake filters in thecleaning, care and Routine maintenance section ofthis manualPRODUCT FILTERREPLACEMENTThe product filter is designed to last the life of theunit when being used under normal operatingconditions. If it is determined the product filterneeds to be replaced, follow the instructionsbelow:1. Turn the unit off, disconnect the powercord and remove the power supply.2. While using the oxygen outlet Spanner anda ½” nut driver, unscrew oxygen outlet onthe front top right of the unit.3. Once the oxygen outlet is removed, theproduct filter can be taken out by simplytipping the FreeStyle Comfort to its side,and the filter will disengage from itsposition.4. Insert the new product filter.5. Screw the oxygen outlet back until it feelssnug.COMPRESSOR INTAKE FILTERThe Compressor Intake Filter is designed to lastthe life of the unit when the unit is being usedunder normal operating conditions. The filter islocated underneath the unit.INFECTION CONTROLWith growing concern about possible crossinfection from home oxygen equipment from onehome care patient to another, a clarification on thisWARNING: TURN OFF THE UNIT ANDDISCONNECT THE POWER CORD FROMTHE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE YOUCLEAN THE UNIT TO PREVENTACCIDENTAL ELECTRICAL SHOCK ANDBURN HAZARD.REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM THE UNITBEFORE PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE TOPREVENT ACCIDENTAL ELECTRICAL SHOCKAND BURN HAZARD. THE FREESTYLE COMFORTMUST BE OFF AND DISCONNECTED FROMEXTERNAL POWER BEOFRE REMOVING THEBATTERY PACK.
