SIMM UpgradeB-6 Optional Installations and Mode Switch Bank SettingsDO NOT attempt a Forced BootP unless a BootP server has been configured for the2H253-25R. The BootP server references the location of a station acting as a Trivial FileTransfer Protocol (TFTP) server containing the 2H253-25R image file.When the position of Switch 6 is changed and the power is cycled to the 2H253-25R, the devicerequests the image file location from the BootP server and uses TFTP to download the imagefrom the TFTP server. If one of these requirements is not met, the 2H253-25R continues torequest either the BootP server or the TFTP server until the RESET button on the 2H253-25Ris pressed. Once the RESET button is pressed, the 2H253-25R resets after one minute and loadsthe image stored in FLASH memory.• Switch 7 – Clear NVRAM. Changing the position of this switch resets NVRAM on the nextpower-up of the device. All user-entered parameters, such as the IP address, device names, etc.,are reset to the factory default settings. Once the 2H253-25R resets, you can either use thefactory default settings or reenter your own parameters.• Switch 8 – Reset Password/Community Names. Changing the position of this switch clearsuser-entered passwords stored in NVRAM, and restores the factory default passwords on thenext power-up of the device. Once the 2H253-25R resets, you can either use the factory defaultsettings or reenter your own passwords.B.4 SIMM UPGRADEMemory upgrade is available for the 2H253-25R to expand its DRAM to 32 MB.
