USING THE INFORMATION SCREENS5-3Frames Transmitted displays the total number of framestransmitted by the FDMMIM (for example, Bridge Protocol DataUnit (BPDU) frames, FDDI SMT frames, etc.).Frame Errors is the total number of errors detected by theFDMMIM at both ports. The individual errors that comprise thistotal are displayed in the Network Traffic screen.5.1.2 FDDI DataThe System Information screen displays top level information aboutthe FDMMIM FDDI concentrator. See Chapter 9, ControllingConcentrator Modules and Ports, for information on the FDDIConfiguration screen. The System Information screen provides thefollowing FDDI information:Ring State shows the current ring state. Refer to Chapter 4,Getting Started with FDMMIM/LM, for possible ring stateconditions and their definitions.Ring Op Count keeps track of the number of times the FDDI ringhas initialized since the last time the FDMMIM was reset. If thisnumber grows steadily, it means that the ring is unstable.MAC Configuration describes the current configuration of theMAC and physical layers of the A and B ports. Here are the possibleport configurations:Through-A The primary ring is connected to theMAC (from PHY-A/Primary In toMAC to Primary Out/PHY-B). Thesecondary ring is isolated from theMAC (from PHY-B Secondary In toPHY-A Primary Out).MACTHROUGH-AFDDI-A FDDI-BPRIMARYOUTSECONDARYINPRIMARYINSECONDARYOUTNote: Dotted lineindicates unusedpath or connection.
