2-3Installing the ModuleThe DIP switch on the module (Figure 2-1), is an eight-switch DIP located nearthe left, bottom corner of the module. Each switch is set according to the functionsdescribed in Table 2-1. If switch settings are changed, the processor on the modulemust be reset, using the reset switch or repowering the module, for changes totake effect.See the Cautions at the end of this table.Table 2-1. Function of DIP SwitchSwitch Function Description8 ClearPassword-1This module stores user-entered passwords in NVRAM(Nonvolatile Random Access Memory). To clear thesepasswords, toggle this switch and then reset the module’sprocessor. Once the module resets, factory defaultpasswords are placed in NVRAM. You can use these defaultpasswords or, if desired, enter new passwords. To enter newpasswords, refer to the Module Local Management User’sGuide.7 ClearNVRAM-2This module stores user-entered parameters such as IPaddresses, subnet masks, default gateway, default interface,SNMP traps, bridge configurations and module specificconfigurations in NVRAM. To clear these parameters togglethis switch and then reset the module’s processor. Once themodule resets, factory default parameters are placed inNVRAM. You can use the default parameters or, if desired,enter new parameters. To enter new parameters, refer to theModule Local Management User’s Guide.6ForceBOOTPDownloadThis module uses BOOTP (Boot Strap Protocol) to downloadnew versions of the image file into Flash Memory.
