INSTALLING THE NB20E OR NB25E BRIDGE3-5Figure 3-4 Bridge Front Panel3.2.5 Connecting The NB20E or NB25E To The PowerSourceWhen installation of the NB20E/NB25E Bridge is complete and theswitches have been set, connect the bridge to the power source in thefollowing manner:1. If you have not already done so, plug the power cord (7, Fig. 3-3) intothe power receptacle (6) located on the rear panel of the bridge.2. Plug the power cord into a wall receptacle.3. Turn the power switch, located next to the power receptacle, to the onposition.4. Observe the status of the ON-LINE, STANDBY, PORT 1 OK andPORT 2 OK LEDs. These LEDs will flash for approximately 10seconds as the bridge performs it's internal diagnostics.When the bridge finishes its internal diagnostics, the LEDs should bein the following conditions:• ON LINE LED lit, indicating that the bridge is receiving power.• PORT 1 OK and PORT 2 OK lit, indicating that the ports havepassed the internal loopback test and are now ready fortransmission.• STANDBY on or off, depending on the bridge's position in theSpanning Tree Algorithim.NB-25EETHERNET /IEEE 802.3 BRIDGING UNITWITH REMOTE LANVIEW® AND MANAGEMENTXMTRCVCPPOKPORT1 21100ON LINESTAND BYFORWARDBROADCASTROOT
