Preparing the NBR for InstallationNBR-SERIES Installation GuidePage 3-53.2.2 Setting Mode SwitchesFigure 3-2 shows the location and factory default settings of the modeswitches. Check these switches to ensure that they are in the correctposition for normal NBR operation.Switch definitions are as follows:• Switch 1 - Cabletron Systems use only.• Switch 2 - Cabletron Systems use only.• Switch 3 - Cabletron Systems use only.• Switch 4 - Cabletron Systems use only.• Switch 5 - Baud Rate Default. Allows you to set the Console port baudrate. The OFF position sets the baud rate to 9600. The ON positionsets the baud rate to 2400. The default position is OFF.• Switch 6 - Forced Download. Changing the state of this switch (i.e.,moving the switch from one position to another) forces the NBR todownload an image file from the station acting as the TFTP server.Never adjust switch settings while the NBR has power appliedto it. Not only is this dangerous, but the change in positionactivates the switch function and after you reinstall or powercycle the NBR it will initiate the request.Do not change the state of Switch 6 unless the followingconditions exist:You have a station acting as a BOOTP server, and a TFTPserver that contains the NBR image file. The BOOTP serverand the TFTP server could be different servers. You intend to set up a station to act as a BOOTP server for theNBR.!CAUTION
