Tips & Troubleshoo0ngBelow are some Ips and troubleshooIng for common quesIons or issues arranged by category:Registra0on• If the CamRanger Windows applicaIon is re-installed, the computer may need to be re-registered.• Most registraIon issues are due to not having Internet connecIvity or entering the serialnumber incorrectly.• If you sIll have issues, please email support@CamRanger.com for assistance.Connec0on• Make sure CamRanger is fully powered on and iniIalized (it should take approximately30 seconds). The power light and WiFi light should both be on.• The password to connect to the CamRanger WiFi is the CamRanger serial number in allCAPS. If there are sIll issues connecIng, turning the WiFi off on the Windows may help.• If the CamRanger applicaIon is connected to the CamRanger device, but no camera isconnected, it will aKempt to connect to a camera approximately every 5 seconds.• If the computer is outside of or near the edge of the range of the CamRanger hardwarethere will be connecIon problems.• Disconnect and reconnect the CamRanger by selecIng “ConnecIon” on the WindowsCamRanger menu bar then “Connect” to force a new session/connecIon.• Power cycling the camera and CamRanger as well as restarIng the applicaIon willcompletely refresh the connecIon.• When the camera baKery begins to get low, certain commands may start to fail or aconnecIon may be refused.• The CamRanger hardware can only be connected to a single Windows computer at aIme.• A second network connecIon, such as with an Ethernet cable, can cause connecIonfailures.• If there is an inconsistent or intermiKent connecIon, the issue is ofen related to theUSB connecIon. A different USB cable will ofen fix the problem.• If the camera has in-camera WiFi capabiliIes, it must be turned OFF to make aconnecIon with the camera.Speed• The CamRanger has all the same distance and interference limitaIons as normal WiFi.Long distances and solid objects will slow the connecIon speed.• The CamRanger applicaIon can handle very large image files. However, waiIng for thosefiles to transfer from the camera and then over WiFi can be Ime consuming. A commonoperaIng mode is to shoot RAW along with a small or medium sized JPG.• Newer and faster Windows computers do perform beKer overall, parIcularly forintensive tasks such as showing the 100% resoluIon images. |
