CHIMNEY CLEANINGWhen wood pellets are burned slowly, they produce tar and otherorganic vapors that combine with expelled moisture to formcreosote. The creosote vapors condense in a relatively cook ovenchimney of a slow burning fire. As a result, creosote residueaccumulates on the chimney. When ignited, this creosote makesan extremely hot fire. The chimney should be inspected at leasttwice a year to determine when grease and or creosote builduphas occurred. When grease or creosote has accumulated, it shouldbe removed to reduce risk of fire.
