6Operating Instructionswww.chpower.comMaintenance (Continued)Intake aIr FILter MaIntenanCeRemoval, Inspection and Replacement(Figure 9).The intake filter element should beremoved and checked periodically.A clogged intake filter can decreasecompressor performance and cause thecompressor to overheat.1. Rotate the filter cover counter-clockwise and remove.2. Remove the filter element andinspect.3. If the filter element is dirty orclogged, replace it.4. Reinstall filter and cover.IMpOrtant: Locate unit as far fromspraying area as hose will allow toprevent overspray from clogging filter.enD OF OperatIOn/StOraGe1. When humidityis high or when a compressor is incontinuous use for an extendedperiod of time, this moisture willcollect in the tank. When using apaint spray or sandblast gun, thiswater will be carried from the tankthrough the hose, and out of thegun as droplets mixed with the spraymaterial.IMpOrtant: This condensation willcause water spots in a paint job, especially when spraying other thanwater based paints. If sandblasting, itwill cause the sand to cake and clogthe gun, rendering it ineffective.A filter in the air line, located asnear to the gun as possible, will helpeliminate this moisture.
