5 Printer Maintenance895.4 Resetting the Ink Level Warning DisplayIf you use the Status Monitor, you can confirm the level of the ink supply on your computerscreen.4 How to Use the Status MonitorWe recommend that you decide to replace the ink cartridge by checking the both icons in InkInformation and messages in the Status Information. Please replace it after the no ink errormessage is displayed.Viewing Ink InformationIf you accidentally replace an ink cartridge before the no ink error appears, the printer may notbe able to accurately report the ink supply. For example, the low ink massage may appear evenwhen there is an ample amount of ink remaining in the cartridge. If that happens, you must reset the ink level warning display when you replace an ink cartridge. An ink detection system will be reset to match the actual ink volume and the detected value.Synchronization of ink supply messages and the actual ink level now works properly.● Reset ink level only after you have replaced an ink cartridge after the appearanceof low ink alert in the Ink Information or in the Status Information of the StatusMonitor. Do not reset it if you do not replace a cartridge when the low ink alertappears, or you replace a cartridge after the no ink error message appears.● Select Resets the ink level warning display immediately after installing the newcartridge. If you do not perform the procedure after just having installed the newcartridge, the next message may not accurately match the level of ink in thecartridge. For example, if you use the printer for a while after installing a new inkcartridge without resetting the ink level warning display, the no ink error may occurbefore the low ink message displays while ink remains in the cartridge.Note
