HoodThe lens hood can keep unwanted light out of the lens, andalso protects the lens from rain, snow, and dust.EF24mm f/2.8To attach the hood, align the hood’s attachment positionmark with the red dot on the front of the lens, then turn thehood in the direction of the arrow until the lens’s red dot isaligned with the hood’s stop position mark , .EF24mm f/2.8, EF28mm f/2.8, EF35mm f/2, EF50mmf/1.0L USM, EF50mm f/1.8, and EF85mm f/1.2L USMPress the buttons on both sides of the hood to attach .The hood can be reverse-mounted on the lens for storage.• Part of the picture may be blocked if the hood is notattached properly.• When attaching or detaching the hood, grasp the base ofthe hood to turn it. To prevent deformation, do not graspthe rim of the hood to turn it.6. FiltersYou can attach filters to the filter mounting thread on thefront of the lens .• Only one filter may be attached.• Use a polarizing Canon filter.Filter Holder for the EF15mm f/2.8 Fish-eyeThere is a gelatin filter holder at the rear of the lens . Cutthe gelatin filter to fit within the white frames. Then insertthe gelatin filter into the filter holder.Q The lens length is measured from the mount surface tothe front end of the lens. Add 21.5 mm when includingthe lens cap and dust cap.
