Menu Function Settings146 Aspect ratioNThe image’s aspect ratio can be set to [3:2], [4:3], [16:9], or [1:1].The area surrounding the Live View image is masked in black whenthe following aspect ratios are set: [4:3] [16:9] [1:1].JPEG images will be saved with the set aspect ratio. RAW imageswill always be saved with the [3:2] aspect ratio. The selected aspectratio information is added to the RAW image file. When you processthe RAW image with the EOS software, this allows you to generatean image with the same aspect ratio that was set for shooting. The shooting range displayed for the asterisked aspect ratio is slightlylarger than the recorded area. Check the captured images on the LCDmonitor when shooting.
