32Exposure SettingsExposure SettingsExposure SettingsExposure SettingsFull Aperture MeteringFull aperture metering can be performed with FD lenseswhich have an aperture signal lever and pin.Set the meter switch at "ON".Set the shutter speed dial at the desired speed.Face the camera towards the subject, look into theviewfinder, and check the needles in the meterreading window.Turn the aperture ring until the meter needle bisects theaperture metering circle in the meter. If thisadjustment cannot be made, a different shutter speedmust be used. The meter needle is coupled to the film and shutterspeeds and moves vertically according to the brightnessof the subject. The meter needle moves downward whenthe shutter is set at high speeds and upward when it isset at low speeds. When the shutter is set at a slow speedoutside the coupling range (slower than 1/2 sec. withASA 100 film), the meter window turns red, andmetering will become impossible even if the aperture ischanged. When the window turns red and meteringcannot be performed, use high-speed film or the optionalBooster T Finder.
