63Histogram DisplayWhen viewing photos you can displaythe histogram and the icons of all thefunctions used at the time of recording.Use the histogram as a reference toverify the correct exposure of thephoto.The area to the right of the histogramrepresents highlights and the left siderepresents shadows. A photo whosehistogram skews to the right is relativelybright; while one whose histogrampeaks to the left, is relatively dark.NOTESThe histogram will appear also afterrecording a photo, while reviewing it withinthe time set for the [REVIEW] option. Youcan choose to turn off the histogram bypressing ( 52).Protecting PhotosYou can protect photos from accidentalerasure.Protecting Single Photos1 Open the photo selection screen.[ PROTECT][ PROTECT] appears on thescreen.2 Select ( ) the photo you want toprotect.3 Press to protect the photo.appears on the bottom bar andthe photo cannot be deleted. Pressagain to remove the protection.4 Repeat steps 2-3 to protectadditional photos or presstwice to close the menu.Protecting Photos from the Index ScreenOptionsAdditional Functions( 24)ShadowsPixel CountHighlightsDISP.( 24)[INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS]Opens the same screen described inProtectingSingle Photos ( 63).
