Turning on the MachineBefore turning on the machine, confirm the following.z The Print Head and ink tanks are installed into place.If you are using the machine connected to a computer, confirm also the following.z The machine is connected to your computer (or a compatible device).z The MP Drivers are installed.1 Open the Operation Panel and press the ON/OFF button to turn on the machine.The Power lamp flashes and then remains litgreen.2 If you are using the machine connected to a computer, turn on your computer. Turning off the Machine1 To turn off the machine, press the ON/OFFbutton.When the Power lamp stops flashing, the machineis turned off.z Screen-saver ModeThe LCD goes out if the machine is not operated for about five minutes*.* You cannot change the wait time before the LCD goes out.NoteIf preparatory operations above are not complete, follow your setup sheet to complete them.ImportantIf the Alarm lamp lights up or flashes orange and anerror message is displayed on the LCD, see “An ErrorMessage Is Displayed on the LCD” on page 70.ImportantAbout the Power PlugWhen removing the power plug after turing off themachine, be sure to confirm that the Power lamp isnot lit. If the power plug is removed from the wall outletwith the Power lamp still lit or flashing green, themachine may become unable to print.See “Keeping the Best Printing Results” on page 51.NoteWhen you want to restore the display, perform a print operation or press any button except for theON/OFF button. When you press the ON/OFF button while the machine is in Screen-saver mode,the machine turns off.
