Image StabilizerSet the image stabilizer switch to ON when youwant to use the Image Stabilizer.z This function provides image stabilizationappropriate for shooting conditions (such asshooting still subjects and panning shots).z The coordinated control will work incombination with cameras with in-body ImageStabilizer.z Supports peripheral control** using coordinatedcontrol with the camera*.z Set the image stabilizer switch to OFF whenyou are not going to use the Image Stabilizer.z The Image Stabilizer cannot compensate for ablurred shot caused by a subject that moved.z The Image Stabilizer may not be fully effective ifyou shoot from a violently shaking vehicle or othertransportation.z When using a tripod, the Image Stabilizer mightnot be fully effective or it might be better to set theimage stabilizer switch to OFF, depending on thetype of tripod and where the tripod is located, aswell as on the camera’s settings such as shutterspeed.z Even with a monopod, the Image Stabilizer willbe as effective as during hand-held shooting.However, depending on the shooting conditions,there are cases in which the Image Stabilizereffect may be less effective.* Please use the latest version of firmware with thecamera.For supported cameras, details on whether the firmwareis the latest version, and how to update, please checkthe Canon website.** In addition to normal control, this reduced changes ofthe distortion around the screen periphery that oftenhappen due to shaking with wide-angle lenses.
